Mediation in Media

How mediation works

Understand the first conversation, individual meetings and joint discussion.

  1. 01 · First conversation

Discuss the situation and whether mediation suits the people involved. Participation is voluntary.

  2. 02 · Preparation

The mediator speaks separately with each participant to understand their concerns and explain the arrangements.

  3. 03 · Meeting

An impartial mediator guides a conversation. Participants may also speak privately with the mediator.

  4. 04 · Next steps

The participants decide whether they can agree a way forward. The mediator helps clarify any agreement.

Common questions

Does the mediator decide who is right?

No. The mediator helps the parties explore their options. Decisions belong to the people involved.

Why consider mediation?

It can give people a chance to address practical problems and preserve a working relationship. An agreement depends on what the participants can accept.

Which disputes can we discuss?

Our practice covers relationships, productions, royalties, contracts and rights. The first conversation helps establish whether mediation is appropriate.
